It's the 'connection' time of year. Schools are back in session, colleagues are settling back in from summer vacations, outdoor education programs are warming up to welcome the field trips. Here is a little Connections Kit to support your community-building efforts.

Icebreaker Questions Cards (print-n-play) There are three decks available, with 30 questions in each (90 different questions): DECK 1, DECK 2, DECK 3
Use the cards for Pair & Shares and discussion prompts for small groups.
Fantastic! Stories (print-n-play) This has been my recent favorite 'Human Bingo' worksheet. It combines sharing life stories and small group tasks as a way to 'earn a square.' Sharing stories is a great way to build connections.
Name Games Revisited Here's a handful of (6) interactive Name Games to energize your community. Knowing names, and using them, is one of the fastest ways to make connections with others.
Puzzle Partners (print-n-play) Here's a fun set of "Are you more like...?" questions. Each one is divided in half on small cards (enough for 40 players). Participants mingle throughout the group looking for their 'other half' and then discuss what they are more like. After the short discussions the cards are exchanged and new partners get together for another conversation. (Pick up the digital book, Are You More Like? to add 960 more options to this interactive connection activity. (The questions also make good writing prompts.)
Figuratively Speaking Conversation Cards (print-n-play) Interesting conversation starters for the whole group or small group discussions. It's a nice way to emphasize 'viewpoint' and diversity through perspective. The figurative phrases can also be used over time to motivate and support group work.
Relationship & Trust Building Cards (print-n-play) This is an all-group process for exploring behaviors that build relationships and trust. Cards are posted to a wall. Participants vote for their top 5 (or so) relationship-building behaviors. The cards (behaviors) with the most votes can be incorporated into the group's norms.
Thank you for all that you do out there!
